Partnership Options Robert F. Kennedy called Cesar E. Chavez “one of the heroic figures of our times,” and Bill Clinton referred to him as “a Moses figure for his own people.” This project seeks to highlight Chavez's brilliance through his own words and voice in an inspirational way. The website will offer information on his legacy and will be regularly updated.
The "Chavez Speaks" video will showcase footage of Chavez, depicting the struggles and triumphs of the farmworker movement. It will be suitable for all ages and distributed globally via the website and public broadcasts, available at no cost to students and educational organizations in digital format and on DVD. We invite you to consider sponsoring or donating to support this vital initiative.
As part of this website, La Pesca LLC will produce a 30-minute feature film entitled Chavez Speaks: Words for our Time, that will present Cesar E. Chavez quotes in his image and voice in a dramatic andi nspirational manner. The current plan is to have a short celebrity (TBD)introduction. La Pesca LLC is currently in discussions with the internationally acclaimed musical group El Chicano for the development of a unique and exclusive soundtrack for the video.
The "Words For Our Time" film will be available for public media presentations. La Pesca LLC will also create a user's packet to further educate people about Cesar E. Chavez's life and legacy.
A primary goal of La Pesca LLC is to offer the film on their website either free of charge or at a minimal cost to educational institutions, students, and community organizations. Additionally, disk and download versions of the video will be available for purchase by the general public.
La Pesca LLC plans to secure funding for the development and production of the video through fundraising activities and sponsorships. The film will include public service announcements from sponsors for a fee.
